I am about honesty and strength, education and empathy. I am about kindness, vulnerability, and empowerment. I am about making the day brighter and making the world better. I am about having more energy, having more light, and having more passion. I am about good manners, grace, and humility. I am about real food, real community, peace, and acceptance. I am about having the conversations that seem too uncomfortable to have while focusing on truth and telling a more accurate story.
I have travelled the country as a Prop Person for national tours of theatrical shows since 2002. Most recently, I was on the road with the 2017 Tony Award winning Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen, but because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the show has been in storage since March 14, 2020. I am very grateful to have been able to spend the subsequent time off in my tiny town, Atlantic Beach, FL. Located about 15 miles east of Jacksonville, FL, it’s a quiet, beach town of about 20,000.
After finding sobriety in 2014, I started dedicating my time to maintaining a healthy lifestyle within the confines of constant travel and living in hotel rooms. I cook easy, but delicious meals; love to explore a new grocery store; and delight in finding the unexpected joys in a running route or evening stroll. The time off has allowed me to add a Precision Nutrition Level One Coaching Certification to the NASM Fitness Nutrition Certification that I completed in 2019 and I became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer this summer.
During the course of the shut down, I have really started to make the condo home; I got a driver’s license and purchased a car for the first time in twelve years; and I adopted a puppy. Don’t let the roses fool you, though…plenty of manure has been spread in my world this year to get them to grow…but that’s how it works, right? By and large, I live an extraordinarily peaceful existence here at the beach and I wanted to share some of it with you.
Currently, I am on a journey back to touring condition along with my dog, Codee, who has also packed on about 15 extra pounds and I am using this space as a means for accountability. Welcome to my online world where I hope to chronicle our adventures around town and the country, while showing off some of my colorful creations! I eat some pretty weird things and sometimes in an overly restrictive manner, so I like to be very clear that I am not recommending that anyone else try to eat like me. That would be silly. I am here, however, to remind you that vegetables are beautiful and that joy can be found wherever you are looking for it.
